Art-Deco Interior Design Style

What comes first to your mind, when we say “Art-Deco”? We bet it reminds of the Great Gatsby, fancy life, opulent parties along with amazing cocktails, stunning outfits, and jazz. The influence of Art-Deco can be traced in everything: from architecture, furniture, lighting design, textiles to fashion (especially jewellery). As you might know, it belongs to one of the most sophisticated and attractive styles of art of the 20th century.

Today, Art-deco is considered to be a strong luxury statement and is being perceived as a symbol of status and wealth, as well as the embodiment of exquisite taste and commitment to excellence. This interior design style is perfect for self-expression just like the clothes we wear to show our personality and impeccable taste.

Alluring and influential, Art deco is the abbreviation for a French «decorative art» and originates in the 1925 «Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes». A fashionable elegance and refined delicacy – a so-called visionary luxury, which is complete, stylish and classy. Must-haves of this style are expensive and rich materials. Gold, brass, crystals, rare woods, marbles, and lacquer finishes are the main key features.

Knowing the fact that Art-Deco interior design concept was extremely in vogue back in the 1920s and 30s, it is having its huge come back in 2022-2023. The iconic style had some transformations in the concept on the way back, though kept its core. Art-Deco is the best way to complement the various areas of the house, in order to attract a visual interest to the interior. It is usually identified by streamlined shapes, majestic ornamentation, bold geometric patterns, and striking colours. Bright and deep, the style itself is sending a powerful message. Art-deco is kind of whispering: be bold, look luxurious.

Nowadays, Art-deco is a refined, groundbreaking, and functional luxury statement. A touch of perfection that never goes out of style.  A contemporary art-deco interior can be reached by a total look, or adding some accents to any interior space, like luxurious lighting fixtures, or decorative accessories.
