PAYMENT AND ORDERS
To start the production of an order, the client must proceed to the following steps:
- Make a minimum deposit of 30% of the total order;
- Make a deposit of at least 50% of the total order if it contains customized items.
After the order is ready, the client must deposit the remainder so that the order can be shipped/collected.
The payment must be made by account transfer (in Euros), and the confirmation (receipt) of the transfer must be sent by e-mail to the responsible account manager.

The estimated production time varies between 8 to 10 weeks after the reception of the deposit. All products are Castro Lighting property until the payment is fully received and confirmed. Castro Lighting reserves the right to postpone the expedition to assure the quality of each product.
DESIGN AND PRODUCT
Castro Lighting reserves the right, without prior notice, to discontinue collections, or products or change the specifications and prices of products.
Images on the catalogue or website may vary from the final product to enhance our product’s quality, aesthetics, usability, and reliability.
Castro Lighting can customize existing products or new products to meet desired specifications.
Special pricing based on quantity and features will be provided upon request for all customized products – the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis, and the buyer will be informed about the quote.
Castro Lighting finishes are applied by hand and may vary in colour, tone, and character. Castro Lighting will make every effort to match a finish, but there’s no guarantee of an exact match to be made.
The pieces of marble used for the designs are individual and cannot match each other fully due to the material natural origin.
In case of ordering any products with lacquered surfaces, the client is advised to communicate RAL reference for a chosen colour.
Castro Lighting ships its lamps with LED bulbs of the required type GU10, G9, E14, and E27 (except North America and other countries that use 110-127V outlets).
Dimmable LED light bulbs are available, if requested, under price quotation. Castro Lighting is not responsible for the compatibility with the lamps and functionality of the dimmers system on the project site. Please, contact Castro Lighting staff for more details about maximum bulbs wattage.
Standard plugs and switches are included. They can be changed according to the standards of the country to which the product is destined with prior notice from the client.
Castro Lighting applies a standard measure for the electrical (and metal) cables of 200cm. Additional lengths of the cables can be added to the proforma free of charge before the order passes to production. The cables required after the order is dispatched are subject to additional costs.
At the time of proforma request, you must indicate if you will take care of the transportation or if you want a transportation quote. The shipping quotes are valid for one month.
You should also advise whether you need an external certificate for the goods to enter the country of destination (Authentication of Invoices, COC Certificates, etc.).
All Products are shipped with insurance. In case of delivery with damaged packaging, it should be immediately stated to the transportation company during the delivery process. The POD must be signed with reservations subject to verification with/without apparent damage to the box/boxes.
When the order is delivered, it is important to verify the products' condition. In case of damages or losses written claim should be presented to the Castro Lighting team by email within 30 days from the delivery date. If the procedure is not respected, this will automatically release Castro Lighting from any liability for damages sustained in transit. Photographic evidence supporting your allegation must be sent by e-mail to the responsible account manager.
All claims must be sent in the original box, otherwise, they will not be accepted.
Castro Lighting will not be liable for any damages resulting from handling, loading, or unloading the products by persons acting on behalf of the receiver. Any transportation of the products from the destination to a second location will forfeit any transportation damage claim.
If the shipping is at the customer's expense, we are not responsible for any damage that occurred during shipping.
Castro Lighting provides a 3 - year limited warranty against any manufacturer's defects. This means that Castro Lighting will fix free-of-charge any problems due to manufacturers, but not problems that occurred due to wrong maintenance/cleaning/humidity.
Castro Lighting does not warrant: changes in surface finishes due to aging or exposure to light, damage from sharp objects or imprinting from writing instruments or prolonged exposure to humidity.
Castro Lighting does not guarantee finishes against fading and oxidizing throughout the years. Variations in colour and veining are inherent in metal and considered to be part of the natural beauty of the material.
Upon confirmation of any defect, Castro Lighting compromises to replace the defective part/piece integrally within a period agreed upon with the client. The defective part/piece must be received by Castro Lighting in its original package before any replacement can be sent.
DOCUMENTS, TAXES AND FEES
The prices shown in a commercial offer (Proforma) are valid for one month. Prices always refer to a single unit, and VAT is not included in the price. All taxes and legal fees must be subsequently added to the price.
Any taxes, charges, or bank transfer fees must be retained by the customer. EU customers without a valid VAT number have to pay the current Portuguese tax, which is 23%.
If a customer's invoice address is outside the EU, the export declaration must be made by Castro Lighting. The cost of the export declaration is 80 euros, and you must use our certificate at the last border of the European Union.
All prices are EX WORKS: not including any value or transportation fees. The shipping value sent on any Proforma is informative as it may vary due to fluctuations in shipping prices on the day of shipment. Standard packaging is included in the price. If specific packaging is required by the customer, it will be charged accordingly.
Castro Lighting can provide all of the following services for an additional fee: Certificate of Origin, Invoice Authentication, and COC Certificates. Please, contact Castro Lighting staff for more information.
The values and percentages on Castro Lighting Price List are public and substitute any other published or advertised before by Castro Lighting or other companies.
Any question that may arise from the interpretation, application, or obedience to these Terms and Conditions must be viewed and resolved in accordance with the laws of Portugal.
