Eighteen months. Eighteen months without Milano, a period that is finally comming to an end. On 5th of September - Milan, the world capital of furniture and design, will reopen the doors of Salone del Mobile with "Supersalone". A curated and innovative project lead by Stefano Boeri scheduled for 5th and 10th September at Rho, Fiera Milano. An event that is set to reunite every décor aficionado: suppliers, interior designers, architects around the world finally meet each other - live.

Before
Admissions:
Tickets to Supersalone can only be purchased online and are limited to one ticket per order. Be sharp: make sure to register yours ahead of time. If you are going with friends or colleagues coordinate everything with them in advance.
Safety First:
To access the fair, you’ll need to present at least one of the following: a certificate of vaccination, proof of a negative test during the previous 48 hours, or a certificate proving that you’ve recovered from Covid-19 within the last six months. Rapid antigen test can be carried out at East Gate and Cargo 1. The cost of the test is € 22,00 in both Italian and English translation. Access to the fairgrounds takes place after checking body temperature. If accused 37,5° or more, access will be denied. Inside the show, the use of mask is mandatory at every time being.
Get there:
The show is located at Fiera Milano in Rho (SS del Sempione, 28). There are several ways to go there. The easiest: by uber/cab or by using your vehicle. However, if you are using Milanese public transportation, there is a 30-minute subway from the city center on the M1 red line. Make sure to purchase a standard ticket since you’ll be riding the train to the very last stop. To ease things up, buy a round-trip ticket so that you don’t have to wait in line again after a long day of walking around the fair.
Food and drinks:
The fair has prepared a food corner called "Identità Golose Food Court". This place will be highlighted by some of the best renowned Italian chefs, including Massimo Bottura and Paolo Brunelli. Be sharp: remember to lunch early. The restaurants at Fiera Milano have been known to run out of options by mid-afternoon. DURING
Open Talks
A lounge area, designed by Donà, allows visitors to interact with design personalities from the past and present. Within the fair, curator and Wallpaper Milan editor Maria Cristina Didero will focus on design. Featuring a curatorship of daily programme with live events, including talks, conversations and lectures led by design’s great masters, architects, entrepreneurs and creatives, this is going to be one of those things you just cannot miss! Names in the line-up like Bjarke Ingels, Humberto Campana, Carsten Höller, Paola Pivi, Beatriz Colomina, and much more. These persons are going to give insights into design, art, architecture, education, economy, environmental impact, and many other relevant topics.
The Lost Graduation Show
An important new initiative for Supersalone is the "Lost Graduation Show". A thematic to inspire the new generation of design creators will be down by tests of the audience. Anniina Koivu is the person in charge of leading this project, contacting creatives from several design schools (more than 300!) around the world, allowing them an opportunity to show their graduation projects to the public. Be ready to see new talents emerging with fresh design collections. This initiative is going to occur throughout the four pavilions.

Fuorisalone 2021
If you think the fun is going to stop at the fair, you are wrong. Milan has a few partnerships with showrooms and places that allow you to explore a bit more all the novelties that brands, designers, and suppliers have for you.
BRERA
Brera Design Week 2021 starts a day earlier (4-10 September) than salone del mobile, this year with a special edition! Besides the standard yer relevant full program of meetings, exhibitions, ideas and new products, this particular edition represents the restart for Milan and Italy, an edition that goes in the direction of inclusion and sharing. The streets of the district will be crossed by the historical tram K35 (an italian tram from the 20's), revisited for the occasion by the architect Michele Perlini in collaboration with Lapitec.
Il Salone/La Città
Mario Piazza, a renown graphic designer and architect, conceives a presentation, explaining the relationship between the Salone and the city of Milano through the collateral events that the fair has been promoting in Milan for about sixty years. This presentation is going to happen in the museum of italian design, the Triennale di Milano.
